Dim Sum Again - Jasmin @ Time Square Bld, Bangkok, Thailand

Sorry for keep quiet for a while....I'm back here with a good Dim Sum in Bangkok.

We went to have Dim Sum for a couple weeks ago but kept it in the box coz very busy. The target is Jusmin Restarunt which standing on the 4th floor of Jasmin Building.

We get the nice view table, close to the window. You can see it close to the BTS line - Sukhumvit. You can take Asoke station. And about 10 mins walk along Sukhumwit Road to Time Square Building. Now, let's see the menu.(Click on photo for Large menu)

They have not quite varity menu. We order some for 2. Starting from deep fried taro.

Ar... we didn't forget one of bad environment concern... Sauce

Chinese Foods always has many sauce on the table. Can you imagine how many sauce throw away per year?

Con't with... a kind of rool noodle. They use the big noodle wrap something inside. They have many option e.g. shrimp, rosted pork, vegetable. We order pork one.

Then 5 baskets, Cream bun - Dampling - etc. (Please don't clock on photo... You may get very hungry)

Don't know how to explain Ha Ha... I knew that I have more than a dozen of shrim on that day. The best way to explain is ONE MORE...

This is a pork with soft bone.

That's all for that day. Very Full that time but very hungry this time.... Wanna go back again.

DinTaiFung @ Central World, Thailand

We are going to the world class dim-sum restaurant. "DinTaiFung" The founder of DinTaiFung was Bingyi Yang, born 1927 in China’s Shanxi Province. They have 62 branches around the would. They have 1 in Thailand, I think sub licences from Singapore (Bread Talk Group).

I am impress with their concept. They have a nice and clean kitchen at the front of the restaurant. Impressive!!!

BUT I upset with their policy. This restaurant that will take you to the table. On the day that I went to is on the working day, not cloudy. They have 50% seat available. They ask me to queue about 20 minute. That's crazy system. PS: the reception speak Thai not well. I think she came from other country. :P

20 Min's later, we are inside. The decoration is so so in Chinese style.

My appetizer is "xiao long pao" which is the highlight of this restaurant. Xiao Long Pao is a kind of dampling which have soup inside. The have the instruction for who have no idea how to eat it.

For the hightlight, Xiao Long Pao : It shouldn't be the hightlight. And, the instruction is Tri-language, Chinese-English-Korea. Are you crazy man? You sale in Thailand but no Thai.

Noodle with steam Chicken soup : This is the real Chinese food. BUT for Thai it no test. No salty, no sweet, no spice, esp. the nood. It seem to be that you eat flour.

Pork shop : It's the best of this meal for me. ( A bit salty)

They is one of the top ten ranked by New York Time. And, one of the top hundred by me.

PS: This is the first and last time for me. Don't want to pay very high and have to wait 20 mins with 50% space. And, the test is not really good. :(

Wat Sothorn Wararam @ Cha Choeng Sao, Thailand

The secound taew is the buddhist trip. That's right! We are going to Wat (Temple)

Wat SoThorn is located on the waste bank of Bang Pakong River. Just 1 hour from Bangkok. The nick name of this city called Pad Rew (Pad = 8, Rew is what we call the strip of the fried fish ; the pic below is  4 Rew). This name is coming from the history. Very long time ago, this river has very big fish. When we cook the fish we have to make 8 strips to cook it easier. So, the fish is double size from the pic below.

Opps!!! it's food again. Coming bact to the trip. This temple has very long story since the age of Ayudthaya is the capital of Thailand (BC 2313). At that time, this temple name is Wat Hong. The budda floating along the Bang Pakong River. And stop at this temple. We invited budda to stay at this temple. We called Luang Pho Sothorn. Shall we go inside....

We have two ubosoth, the building for Budha and monk pray. The old obosoth is the place to the duplicate budda. For Thai, we will use joss stick, candle, flower and gold sheet for pray with budha. This is the reason that we have to make the duplicate one to safe the real one.

Now, we are going to the new ubosoth. the first photo of this blog. This is the place for the real Luang Pho Sothorn.

Inside, we have a large group of 20 other Buddha images around Luang Pho Sothorn. He is at the center back.

When we done the pray in the ubosoth. Don't forget to cross the street to go for shopping. They have a local market selling souvenir. For sure it's FOODS. The famous one is Khanom Jak and Khao Larm.

 Khanom Jak : It made of coconut. Wrap with Jak leaf. Then, grill it on stove.

Khao Larm : We cooked the sticky rice in bamboo tube. And, top up with Coconut custard.



Don't ask me about the tested. This is the tawe not kin. I didn't brought and try it Ha Ha..... Hope you enjoy with this trip. Next will be Kin again.

Diving Trip @ Koh Tao, Thailand

I would suggest you to try diving trip, Live aboard trip. That's pretty cool. no email, no phone. Just the sea-sun and sea sick Ha Ha.

PS: Please don't forget to do some research about the cruise. You will found something difference in each cruise.

This trip, we heading to have diving trip at Koh Tao. Koh is Island. Tao is turtle. So, Koh Tao is Turtle Island. It's in the South of Thailand, gulf of Thailand. We choose to join the trip with Dumnam.com, Thapana Cruise. We take a van on Thursday evening and reach to the cruise which waiting for us at Chumporn province around 2 am.
